For the 10th anniversary of the Elder Scrolls series, Arena has been released as a free download! Though there’s a link to the DOSBox emulator so you can run this old DOS game in your Windows, you’ll probably also want to download D-Fend, a front-end for DOSBox that’ll make things easier.

And, seeing as though I’m posting all these links, why not check out my old GameSpy Hall of Fame writeup for the Elder Scrolls series?

Saturday was eventful. I played ball hockey, and got slashed on the end of my thumb (my trackball thumb!). Hurt like a mother$#@*er, but it’s now just a small bruise under the nail. Mellissa and I went out to Sammy J. Pepper’s, which was okay — the short skirts on the female employees were tastier than the food — and then to the only showing of Return of the King within range, which was Coquitlam. Surprisingly, even though we ate just before the movie and we had seen it before, we didn’t budge from the seats, it was still such a good movie.

For those who have kept tabs on my blog, you’ll recall my deep-seated hatred for my work’s emergency support cel phone. Well, though I’ll have to take it for two of the upcoming three weeks, that’ll be it — my job is changing to more of a training role, as well as specialized projects, so no more direct general customer support for me. The drawback is I won’t be getting the occasional Friday off anymore, but I also won’t have to work the occasional Saturday.
