I found out that the deadline of the 23rd is for the programmers, not for testing. I have a few weeks yet.

With all the Xmas shopping done (thanks to the wonderful wife), I’m sitting pretty. Half a day of work tomorrow, then an extra week off!

In addition to the rushing around trying to find Christmas presents, we also have to have the next version of the software tested and complete by Dec. 23!

Stress is high! I got home at 8:40pm tonight.
It’s still better than my last job…12-16 hour days when crunch time came.
I am sooo gonna enjoy the week off between Xmas and New Years.

Finished Half-Life 2 a couple days ago, once I managed to mostly get around the sound pausing bug. Awesome!

Guess it was about time. WinXP has spoiled me for not having to reinstall the OS for a couple years now. However, I was burning something for Puck, and I couldn’t eject the disc. I rebooted, and the startup screen just sat there. I rebooted again, told it to load the Last Known Good, and it came back, but my DVD drives had question marks in my Device Manager and they didn’t show up in Explorer.

I don’t have a recent System Restore point. Sigh. Well, Windows is always faster after a nice reinstall…

I just updated my Usable Freeware website with the addition of Firefox, which I’ve been using for months. A lot more secure than IE, and incredibly extensible thanks to the open source programmers out there.
Take that, Micro$oft!

I also went through my web logs and found some bandwidth-stealing whores, such as this guy, these french guys, this chick and this other chick, who seems to be humping her dog (SFW).

Replaced the graphics they were stealing. I was tame this time. But next time…
