I’m a little tired after last night, when I had to drive my Dad to the emergency room due to severe gut pain. He thought his hernia had recurred, but after 2 1/2 hours of waiting he was told it was probably a kidney stone. I got to bed around 1am.

For those that care, CGH now has a T.V. in their emergency waiting room. Ironically, there was a doctor show (House M.D.) on when we arrived.

Since I got a flu shot a couple months back, my arm has experienced some aching right there, deep down. Only a few times now, and it goes away by the next day, but it’s annoying.

I got flu shots 3 times in the last 3 years, and the last 2 of those has seen me locked in the bathroom for a 12-hour period sometime that year, spewing from both ends. What is the point of getting the shot if it won’t protect? I’ve been told since that the shot doesn’t protect against stomach flu; well, what’s the freaking point then? I caught non-stomach flu last year, too, and was told that they missed that strain in the shot.

I don’t think I’ll be getting any more shots. Other than last year, the only non-stomach flu I caught was, like, 15 years ago!

Not a week after the huge snowfall, it was 18C in Abbotsford today! The sun wasn’t even able to be seen through the record-breaking downpour!

On the way home, the overcast sky combined with the rain to remove almost all ambient light. I couldn’t see the lines on the roads, and it got even worse when I hit a patch of fog a couple miles from home.

Home safe and sound now. Sheesh.

My kid got sick and barfed a couple times on Sunday, then had nasty diarrhea. Yes, it’s that time again.

It hit Mellissa and I last night. It was pretty horrible, and my fever broke at around 2am, but it still wasn’t as bad as last time, which was just over a year ago. Still, I had to run to the washroom once every 45 minutes, on average, all night.

The Weather Network said that only a few centimetres of snow would fall overnight, but I woke up to find a veritable blizzard outside and the radio reporting “treacherous” whiteout conditions on the highway, with a dozen cars off the road on the Sumas flats (and an entire bus on its side later in the day).

No work for me today!
