Our hot water tank sprung a leak, so we’re patiently awaiting the repairman. In the meantime, I got to experience washing my hair in freezing cold water. Good thing I decided against a shower!
Sure woke me up this morning, though…

If making fun of someone’s race makes you a racist, would making fun of their language make you a linguist?

For you trekkers out there, please vote in the TV Guide Star Trek poll…
…and vote Alexander as the most annoying character, not Wesley.
I mean, think about it: Wesley started out really annoying but the character actually got more interesting the longer he was on the show. Alexander just kept whining about his mother and how he’d never be a good Klingon. Vote! Make it so!

WordPress v1.5 is out, and the upgrade went without a hitch!
I’m looking forward to the new whitelist option for commenting, which should keep the poker spammers out of my comments.
Had some fun trying to get the Gravatar icons to work properly in Internet Explorer again. Stupid IE…

I was asked to help some friends with their computer after work. I tell ya, if there’s one thing that will take care of Windows 98 problems, it’s Windows 2000…
Install…drivers…update…antivirus…firewall…anti-spyware…done! Ahh…nothing like a fresh OS installation. The speed of the computer only goes downhill from there.

A few months back I got some free downloads from Puretracks.com with some microwave “hot pocket”-type food. I went to listen to some of the files today, only to be told by Windows Media Player that I need to restore my licenses from a backup. What backup? WTF?
Looking online, it appears that my recent CPU upgrade is responsible for making WMP think that I’ve put my music on a new computer. WMP10 has the ability to regenerate licenses, and Microsoft has a utility online to do the same, but neither worked.
Well, they’re MY music files, and I’m going to download them in MP3 format via P2P. Suck it, Microsoft! Your proprietary WMA format is absolute crap.

There’s a Taco Bell in town! There’s a Taco Bell in town!

Not a week after the huge snowfall, it was 18C in Abbotsford today! The sun wasn’t even able to be seen through the record-breaking downpour!
On the way home, the overcast sky combined with the rain to remove almost all ambient light. I couldn’t see the lines on the roads, and it got even worse when I hit a patch of fog a couple miles from home.
Home safe and sound now. Sheesh.

Guess it was about time. WinXP has spoiled me for not having to reinstall the OS for a couple years now. However, I was burning something for Puck, and I couldn’t eject the disc. I rebooted, and the startup screen just sat there. I rebooted again, told it to load the Last Known Good, and it came back, but my DVD drives had question marks in my Device Manager and they didn’t show up in Explorer.
I don’t have a recent System Restore point. Sigh. Well, Windows is always faster after a nice reinstall…
